SBR training sessions will be on holiday break from December 22nd. Our first session back in 2026 will be on Tuesday January 6th

Training Sessions

We offer sessions for every level from those just starting out to advanced runners. Tuesday sessions focus on Speed and Thursdays focus on Endurance. We also host regular social long runs on a Sunday morning.

Interval Session

Tuesday
6pm – 7pm

This session focuses on intervals to help you run at a faster pace. These sessions are for runners of all abilities and levels of running experience.

Example Session:

As an example, a Speed session may look like this:

  • Easy running warm up

  • Activation drills (Skipping, Butt kicks, High knees etc)

  • 6x 1000m repeats with 2:00 min rest between each effort

  • Cool down jog

  • Group photo!

Long Run

Sunday
Variable start time- typically 5:30am

These are social runs to help individuals find like minded training partners during race training blocks. Runners will typically cover 12-30+ km depending on personal goals and training needs. SLR goals may be guided by current club training programs. All runners are welcome; as always, come for some, come for all! Coffee, smoothies and breakfast at South Bank post-run highly encouraged.

Endurance Session

Thursday
6pm – 7pm

This session focuses on longer efforts to help you build endurance. These sessions generally are less intense and rank higher on the social and fun factor. They are designed to get the most out of runners by grouping runners of similar ability.

Example Session:

As an example, an Endurance session may look like this:

  • A Progressive run where groups of similar ability, run 7-10km running easy to begin with but building in speed each kilometer until we reach the fastest speed at the end of the run.
